As we already know! There are two phones in the Xiaomi 13 series lineup – The vanilla 13 and the 13 Pro and they are the successors of the last year’s Xiaomi 12 & Xiaomi 12 Pro. Let us look at the Design, Specifications, and Pricing & Availability of the Flagship Xiaomi 13 Series.
Xiaomi 13 Series Design
The Xiaomi 13 & Xiaomi 13 Pro share the same design language but have some key differences; the vanilla 13 features a Flat display & sides, whereas the 13 Pro has a curved display and sides. The camera island on the 13 Pro is bigger and of course, the Pro is larger and wider than the regular 13. There are minimal bezels all around the display and chin. Also, there’s a single-centered punch-hole camera. The power button & volume rockers are on the right, and the Type-C port, Speaker grille is on the top and bottom. For the back, Xiaomi 13 & the Xiaomi 13 features a squarish camera island with oval edges that houses the triple rear cameras with LED flash inside it and Leica branding. Xiaomi branding is in the bottom left of the phone. One thing to note here is that the vanilla Xiaomi 13 has a glass back and a flat glossy frame which gives it iPhone vibes, whereas the Xiaomi 13 Pro features a ceramic back. The Xiaomi 13 Pro features a 6.73-inch 2K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3200-pixel resolution; it is an LPTO panel and supports HRD10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, and DC dimming at 1920Hz. Also, it has a 1200 nit brightness and 1900nits peak brightness. Under the Hood, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is equipped with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, i.e., Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM & up to 512GB UFS 4.0 Storage. It runs on the latest version of Miui, i.e., MIUI 14, based on Android 13. The device features a vapor chamber for heat dissipation, and the company says that vapor chambers cover 42.5 of the phone’s body. The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in four colors – Black, White, Green, and kind of Light Blue color, which has a leather back finish; the company says that the material used is dirt and scratch-resistant thanks to the Nano Skin technology. As for cameras – This is the highlight of the Flagship smartphone, there’s a triple rear camera at the back, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX989 1- inch sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, and HyperOIS, which is also present in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, a 50MP ultra-wide which also works as a macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture with autofocus and a finally a 50MP telephoto with 3x zoom with OIS and Leica Floating lens. Also, there’s an f/2.0 aperture. For selfies & video calls, there’s a 32MP front shooter. The Flagship device gets a 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and a 10W reserve wireless charging tech. Other features of the flagship device include an in-display fingerprint sensor, X-axis linear motor, NFC, WiFi 6, Dolby Atmos-tuned Stereo speakers, and IR Blaster. The Xiaomi 13 features a 6.36-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2400 X 1080 pixel resolution. The display supports HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. It also gets the same 1200 nits brightness and 1900 nits peak brightness as the 13 Pro. The vanilla Xiaomi 13 is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM & up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Miui 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. The flagship device comes in four different colors – Black, Light Green, Grey, and White. Some other limited colors include Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue; just like the 13 Pro, the regular 13 also gets the same Light Blue color with a Leatherback. The regular also features a triple rear camera setup at the back, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX880 sensor with HyperOIS & and 23mm f/1.8 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, OIS, and an f/2.0 aperture. Lastly, a 12MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and no autofocus. There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies.
